These projects was implemented in 9 villages in 8 provinces (Bac Giang, Ninh Binh, Hue, Danang, Ho Chi Minh, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Phu Yen) of Vietnam
Objectives of projects
- To create awareness about the environment and its conservation in the community;
- To implement some environmental management measures in rural areas such as access to potable water, solid waste and sewage management and reduced use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides;
- To improve quality of life for people in villages
The results of the project
The successful results from GPDP were expanded to more households and villages. The following results were achieved
- Increase the number of people accessing in the clean water
- Reduce the amount of pesticide an chemical fertilizer
- Improve awareness of villagers on environmental protection
- Income generation
- Reduce pollution from human and animal waste
Your organization’s role (leader, partner) and level of involvement in the project
VPC play a role of leader in this project. The main role of VPC in this project are as following:
- Coordinate with Departments of Science, Technology and Environment to implement GP project in 9 villages
- Provide technical assistance on GP options
- Organize training courses on options implemented
- Organize workshop for sharing of experience between GP teams
